Navigating an increasingly dangerous world

We worked with MedAire to build something that hadn't existed before: a maritime risk intelligence platform that understood luxury yachting. Not just weather and waves, but the full picture of what could go wrong when you're responsible for a multimillion-dollar vessel and everyone aboard.

01 The Challenge

Yacht captains were flying blind in an increasingly complex world. They had weather data. But what about the political unrest brewing in the next Mediterranean port? The medical facility closures that could affect a guest's prescription needs? The security incidents that traditional maritime intelligence systems never picked up?

When you're managing a superyacht operation, you're not just navigating water. You're managing guest expectations, crew safety, and assets worth tens of millions. Traditional maritime risk tools were built for cargo ships, not for the nuanced needs of luxury yacht operations.

02 How We Approached It

We started by spending time with yacht captains to understand how they actually make decisions. Not just the technical side, but the human judgment calls that happen dozens of times per voyage. The breakthrough was realising this needed to work like a navigation tool, not a data dashboard. Captains don't have time to parse through feeds and reports. They need to see potential problems at a glance and understand their options immediately.

03 What Made It Special

Most maritime intelligence platforms throw data at you. We built something that thinks like a yacht captain. The system doesn't just aggregate feeds. It uses AI to monitor social media and local news for any emerging situations that could affect yacht operations but would never show up in official maritime bulletins.

The platform works offline too, because connectivity in remote anchorages can be patchy. Captains can assess routes and download risk briefings before they lose signa

04 The Reality

We delivered a comprehensive maritime intelligence platform (as part of the MedAire 360 suite) that transforms how luxury yacht operations assess and manage risk.

  • Interactive risk mapping allowing captains to evaluate routes and destinations in real-time

  • AI-driven threat detection using social media monitoring to identify emerging local risks

  • Integrated decision support combining security, medical, and operational intelligence

  • 8-month delivery timeline from concept to deployment

The platform now serves as the intelligence backbone for luxury yacht operations worldwide, helping captains make informed decisions that protect both assets and lives.
