Your mission

As a critical member of our team you’ll apply your impressive front-end skills to develop and deliver solutions for a variety of online projects. You’ll work directly with some great local and international companies as an architect, engineer and builder of tools that enable our clients to change and grow.

What’s the role about?
Tasks and Responsibilities‍
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Agile and Waterfall project management: Have a robust understanding of both Scrum and Waterfall methodologies to effectively manage and deliver digital projects.

  • Engage with stakeholders: Collaborate directly with client service teams and clients to understand overarching business strategies and objectives.

  • Lead design and development of projects: Work closely with the broader Journey team to design, develop, and deliver mobile apps, web applications and custom websites.

  • Manage project scope and documentation: Scope small, medium and large projects and create detailed Statements of Work.

  • Craft detailed project plans: Develop comprehensive plans for project delivery, managing all aspects from inception to completion following Journey’s delivery process.

  • Oversee project execution: Be accountable for managing project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

  • Optimise delivery processes: Take charge of the delivery process, from sprint planning to managing scope creep, ensuring project requirements are met.

  • Enhance team communication: Write clear and concise User Stories with Acceptance Criteria, run daily Stand-Ups, weekly client WIP meetings, lead project demos and retrospectives to maintain project momentum as well as team and client alignment.

  • Lead workshops and meetings: Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering meetings to ensure thorough understanding and stakeholder engagement.

  • Client delivery management: Lead and facilitate the presentation of deliverables to clients, ensuring high satisfaction and continuous engagement.

  • Financial oversight: Prepare and monitor project financial reports to track and enhance project profitability.

  • Risk and resource management: Proactively manage project risks, assumptions, and resources, maintaining optimal project flow and team productivity.

  • Cultivate a positive team culture: Motivate and foster a supportive and ambitious culture within the production team.

Essential skills and experience:
  • Seasoned digital project management: You will bring a minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a digital agency setting as a Senior Digital Producer, Senior Digital Project Manager, or Senior Delivery Manager. Expertise in both Scrum and Waterfall methodologies is essential to effectively manage the dynamic challenges of digital project delivery at Journey.

  • Technical proficiency and leadership: You should have a strong background in delivering comprehensive digital solutions, including content management systems, mobile apps, and web applications. Your role will involve leading cross-functional teams through the full lifecycle of digital development, from information architecture and prototyping to user testing and bug fixing.

  • Strategic insight and budget management: Maintain a robust understanding of digital best practices across usability, design, development and project management. Demonstrated ability to manage tight deadlines and strict budgets is crucial. You are adept at keeping projects on track and profitable, ensuring they not only meet but exceed client expectations and business objectives.

Important notes

For this role you must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand and be based in Auckland, New Zealand. We will not be recruiting from overseas for this role, and you will not be able to work from outside of Auckland or offshore.
